Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup whiskey your preferred type
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes frozen
  • 1/4 cup citrus juice lemon or lime preferred

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure out the whiskey, simple syrup, and citrus juice, then add them to the blender pitcher.
  2. Add the ice cubes on top of the liquid ingredients, creating a mound that covers the liquid completely.
  3. Secure the lid tightly on the blender and blend on high speed for about 30-40 seconds, until the mixture is slushy and smooth with no visible ice chunks.
  4. Stop the blender and check the texture; it should be thick, icy, and slightly frosty around the edges.
  5. Pour the frozen whiskey slushie into chilled glasses, using a spoon if needed to scrape out any thick blobs.
  6. Garnish with a slice of citrus or a sprig of mint if desired, then serve immediately with a straw or spoon.

Notes

For a stronger smoky flavor, use a peaty whiskey. Adjust sweetener to balance bitterness, and serve immediately to enjoy the perfect icy texture.
