  • 2 cups frozen strawberries preferably peeled and stemmed
  • a handful fresh basil leaves about 10 leaves
  • juice of 1 lemon fresh lemon juice for brightness
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup optional, for sweetness

Method
 

  1. Place the frozen strawberries into the blender.
  2. Add the fresh basil leaves on top of the strawberries.
  3. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the blender for a bright, zesty flavor.
  4. Pour in the cold water and drizzle honey or agave syrup if you want extra sweetness.
  5. Secure the lid on the blender and start blending on high speed. Blend until the mixture is smooth, thick, and evenly icy, about 30-40 seconds. You should see a vibrant red color with tiny herbal flecks.
  6. Pour the slushie into glasses. If desired, garnish with a small basil leaf or a lemon twist for presentation.
