Ingredients

  • 1 cup aged rum chilled
  • 2 cups orange juice preferably chilled
  • 1 cup pineapple juice chilled for better blending
  • 2 tablespoons honey or adjust for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon adds warmth and aroma
  • 2 cups ice cubes preferably frozen solid

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure out all the ingredients, ensuring the rum, fruit juices, and honey are well chilled for a more refreshing slush.
  2. Add the orange juice, pineapple juice, aged rum, honey, and ground cinnamon into the blender jar.
  3. Drop in the ice cubes, one by one, into the blender, creating a layered look that leads to icy goodness.
  4. Secure the lid of the blender tightly and blend on high speed for about 30-45 seconds.
  5. Observe as the mixture transforms into a thick, smooth, and frosty slush with a slight swirl of cinnamon on top—listen for the whir of the blades and smell the warm spice aroma.
  6. Pour the icy mixture into glasses, filling them close to the rim to showcase the frosty texture and vibrant color.
  7. Garnish with a light dusting of cinnamon or a small wedge of citrus for an inviting presentation.
  8. Serve immediately with a straw or small cocktail umbrella, allowing the drink to maintain its icy consistency and aromatic appeal.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the mixture rest for 5 minutes in the freezer before serving. Adjust sweetness by adding more honey or citrus as desired.
