Method
- Bring the water to a gentle boil in a teapot or saucepan, then remove from heat and add the herbal tea leaves. Cover and steep for about 5 minutes until fragrant. Strain out the tea leaves into a pitcher and let the tea cool to room temperature.
- Stir in your chosen sweetener into the cooled tea, adjusting the amount for your preferred sweetness. Mix until fully dissolved, then refrigerate until chilled, about 10 minutes.
- Once the tea is thoroughly chilled, transfer it to a blender. Add the ice cubes on top.
- Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth, thick, and icy, with visible frozen crushed ice and a vibrant herbal aroma filling the air. This should take about 30 seconds.
- Taste the slushie and, if desired, add a little more sweetener or a squeeze of lemon for extra brightness. Blend briefly to incorporate.
- Pour the herbal iced tea slushie into glasses. Garnish with fresh herbs or edible flowers if desired for an extra pretty presentation.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different herbal teas and natural sweeteners. You can also add a splash of fruit juice for extra flavor or sparkle with some sparkling water on top.
